Unlock iOS 5.0.1 iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS [Ultrasn0w]

If you’ve already Jailbroken iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4 or iPhone 3GS, its time to get the phones free of the network boundaries.

With Ultrasn0w 1.2.5, you can unlock iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone, iPhone 3GS on the following basebands:
  • 01.59.00
  • 04.26.08
  • 05.11.07
  • 05.13.01
  • 05.12.01
  • 06.15.00
You can  check your baseband version under Settings > General > About.
Note: If you bought iphone recently, chances are there that it has a newer baseband, which is Unlockable. Verify the baseband version before you proceed.
iPhone Dev team has workedreally hard to get this one out as fast as possible.
How to Unlock iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone 4, iPhone 3GS using Ultrasn0w
Step 1: Launch ‘Cydia’ application and click on ‘Manage’ tab, followed by ‘Sources’ and then  ‘Add’. Add the following URL – http://repo666.ultrasn0w.com – then select ‘Add Source‘.
 
Step 2: Cydia would now verify this source and refresh its available lists. Go back and install Ultrasn0w, it will automatically unlock your iPhone.

Jailbreak, Unlock iOS 5.0.1 iPhone, iPod Touch, iPad

iOS 5.0.1 comes with fixes for battery drains, and the jailbreak is already available.

With latest version of Redsn0w, you can tether-jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 on iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch.
Important Note:
  • A5 devices iPad 2 and iPhone 4S are not supported.
  • If you use GEVEY to unlock, you can upgrade to iOS 5.0.1 and retain the lock. Refer to the section at the end.

Download iOS 5:

Step 1: Use iTunes to update your device to iOS 5.0.1.
Step 2: Open Redsn0w and select “Extras” and then “Select IPSW”, and point it to the iOS 5.0 firmware file, which can be downloaded from this link. Select the appropriate iOS 5 custom firmware that you downloaded for your device.
Step 3: Click “Jailbreak” and select “Install Cydia”. Follow the on screen steps to enter DFU mode and see the magic, as it happens.
Howto Boot Tethered:
Launch Redsn0w, select “Extras”, followed by “Just Boot”. You will need to perform this action every time your device is switched off or rebooted.
Unlock  iPhone 4 on iOS 5.0.1
If you rely on GEVEY SIM for unlocking iPhone 4, get ready to create a custom .IPSW, so that you can preserve your baseband.
Method: Run Redsn0w, select “Extras”, then “Custom IPSW”, then point Redsn0w to your iOS 5.0.1 file, and let Redsn0w do the rest. Next, enter pwned DFU mode (Extras > Pwned DFU) and restore to your custom firmware via iTunes. Once complete, you’ll be able to unlock your device with GEVEY.
